EQWin Desktop Edition Licensing

A license is permission from EQWin Software Inc. to install and use EQWin. Customer-specific License terms are established on the original sales invoice and specify the type(s) of License(s), the location(s) at which seats may be installed and used, and the total number of seats which may be installed and used.

A seat consists of one activated installation of EQWin on one computer. Each seat on a License is provided with a unique Serial Number which must be entered during installation. Following installation, an Activation Code must be obtained from EQWin Software.

A site is a physical location where the software may be installed and used, such as a facility, minesite, or corporate office.

General Considerations for All License Types

• All License types support access to multiple databases. All License types also support shared database access provided the databases are kept in a shared location on a LAN.
• For all License types, separate renewable Annual Maintenance and Technical Support (AMTS) subscriptions are available. AMTS is billed annually on the anniversary date of the original purchase.
• New seats can be added to Licenses by customers with current AMTS upon request. An upgrade to a Single Seat License automatically changes that license type to an Multi-Seat Site License.
• Licenses always remain the property of the original entity (person or corporation) which purchased them, and are non-transferrable except with written consent from EQWin Software.

Single Seat License

This License type is suitable for individuals and smaller sites where a single person handles most environmental tasks.

• consists of one seat for use by one person at a time
• the License holder may be a person or a site

Multi-Seat Site License

This License type is suitable for larger sites where more than one person may require access to the same database(s). Multi-site corporations often have a separate Site License for each of their operations.

• seats can only be installed at the site or site(s) stipulated by the License terms
• the total number of installed seats can be at most the maximum number of seats specified by the License terms
• the License holder is the site which originally purchased the License

Multi-Seat Corporate License

This License type is suitable for multi-site corporations and government agencies or entities such as cities and counties. It offers the most flexibility for deploying a large numbers of EQWin installations where they are needed.

• multiple seats within a single corporation
• the minimum number of seats for a Corporate Volume License is 20
• the License holder is the corporation
• seats may be installed at any qualified site. A qualified site is one that is either managed by the corporation or for which the corporation has a majority ownership stake, either directly or indirectly, or a site that has otherwise been recognized by EQWin Software to be a qualified site for the purposes of the License. The total number of seats across all sites can be at most the maximum number of seats specified by the License.
